| Certified Specialist in Personal and Small Business Bankruptcy Law |
| The State
Bar of California certifies a limited number of attorneys in specified areas
of law, in order to identify to the public those attorneys who have demonstrated
proficiency and competence in their field of speciality. Attorney Steven
L. Bryson has been certified by the State Bar as a Specialist in Personal
and Small Business Bankruptcy Law.
In order to qualify for this certification, attorneys must have been substantially involved in the practice of personal and small business bankruptcy law for a minimum of five years prior to certification. This involvement requires a showing that the attorney has personally represented debtors and/or creditors in no less than 50 different matters in at least 30 different cases. In addition to this actual experience, the attorney must demonstrate that he has completed no less than 45 hours of educational activities specifically approved for personal and small business bankruptcy law. Finally, the attorney must pass a “peer review,” with at least 3 lawyers, one judge, one trustee, and two opposing counsel in recent cases attesting to the attorney’s competence in the field. |
